International transport and inspection services

Shipping department of Negin Sang Kavir Co. is an active department responsible for arranging and sending shipments by land or sea depending on customer’s request, destination, budget, time and etc.

Sea transport is not practical to ship cargo when time is a key issue in delivery. The goods or cargo that gets transported by sea can be packaged into boxes, cases, pallets and bundles. Ocean containers are the most efficient way to ship the cargo. This company usually take the containers to the factory to have a safer loading using trained personnel and minimize damage and deterioration.
Land transport is also one of the earliest form of transporting cargo and good. It is very useful in transporting goods across borders which are not very far away. Just like sea cargo transportation, land shipment can transport goods of almost any size. Using trucks to transport goods via land is the most common mean of transportation. Another mode of land transportation beside trucks to deliver cargo over long distances can be trains which are a faster medium of shipment than trucks.

Stone quarry poses threat to residents of quaint village

COIMBATORE: Perumpathi in Pollachi had once earned laurels for being a self-sustaining village after the villagers joined hands with the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU) for harvesting different varieties of fodder crops and with the Veterinary University Training and Research Centre (VUTRC) in raising livestock. Today, over 300 families residing there are facing an existential threat as a private firm is planning to set up a stone quarry in the locality.
The residents said that they will lose their livelihood if the government gives license to operate the quarry, just 250 meter away from the farmlands. “We have been residing here for more than a decade. Our houses will develop cracks when they start to blast the rocks,” said V Gopal, a resident of Perumpathi, who has submitted a petition to the Pollachi sub-collector, requesting the government not to provide license for the quarry.
The livelihood of the villagers is dependent on milk production and they have been selling milk by establishing a milk society there. “Our livelihood is completely dependent on livestock and agriculture. If the quarry starts functioning, we will have to vacate the village,” Gopal told TOI.

With farmlands outlining the quarry, trees would not bear fruits once the crushers start to function, said T Dharmaraj, a farmer. Dust from crushers would not just affect the farmland, but also would be a threat to the livestock and residents, he said.
Debris from blasting the rocks would pose a serious threat to the livestock, apart from causing serious health problems among the residents, said environmentalist R Mohammad Saleem. “The chances are high that the underground water table would also be polluted,” he said.
While the revenue department has started to invite objections from the villagers around the quarry, works to construct the crusher near the quarry has begun. As per a government order, no quarry that is within 300meters of residential, commercial or industrial area would be given license to operate and no crushers within 500 meters of residential area would be given permission, said an official from the department.
The officials said they would look into issue as the individual had sought permission to establish crusher and the mines department was yet to approve it.

Protests, resignations, and flawed EIS plague Newmont Conga gold mine in Peru

Opposition is stacking up higher and higher against Newmont’s $4.8 billion mega gold project in Peru. Here is a quick run down of things that are beginning to impact whether this project is longer feasible, or not.

Political
Today the Deputy Minister of the Environment, Jose de Echave, resigned in protest. Echave said that the Humala government "lacks an adequate strategy for dealing with social conflict." He also raised concerns about the weakening on the Ministry Environment after being restructured to defer to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers

There is growing tension between the Ministry of Mining and the Ministry Environment. Last year the Ministry of Mining supported and approved Newmont’s Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for the Conga mine. However, after growing protests the last few weeks the Ministry of the Environment has reviewed the EIS and concluded that it had lacked comprehension and needed further evaluation because it would “cause drastic changes to the ecosystem”. Not a ringing endorsement for Newmont’s EIS for Peru’s largest ever mining investment

Social
Today is the sixth day is a sustained strike that has crippled the Cajamarca region. The protests have been sporadic in the past few weeks after being called on by the Regional President, Gregorio Santos, however the most recent wave of protests have been building day by day in numbers and urgency. Groups ranging in the thousands have been occupying central plazas and coordinating marches to guard the lakes threatened by Newmont’s Conga project. The Conga project has gone from a forgone conclusion during the Garcia administration to a major moment in the new administration that communities and companies are using to measure up the new Humala administration’s intentions.

Environmental
As written above there has been tension between the Environmental and Mining Ministries. It’s clear that upon review the Environmental Impact Statement is far from complete.
RPP: Plantean nuevo EIA del proyecto Conga para acabar con paro en Cajamarca
Also disconcerning is Newmont's obvious lack of concern for the environmntal impacts mining brings to the region. Newmont is proposing to mine a high-altitude ecosystem that coincidentally is protected in Colombia because if its fragility; Newmont also wants to remove 4 lakes and replace them with man-made reservoirs (3 for drinking, and the biggest to hold mining waste); and finally Newmont is proposing a mine site at the headwaters of multiple rivers. These factors alone demand an EIS that is developed with full due-diligence and accountability, not with expediency and rubber-stamping.

Say NO to Toxic Mining on the Menominee River

The Menominee River has some of the most spectacular hiking trails, rugged terrain, old growth forests, wilderness campsites and waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. However, a proposed open pit sulfide mine on the banks of the river would put the river at risk. The Menominee River is simply not the place for a risky mine. Tell the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to deny the Canadian mining company’s permit to develop a sulfide mine.

Sulfide mining contributes to more Superfund cleanup sites than any other mining activity. Sulfide mining is used to extract copper, nickel, and other metals from sulfide ores. The environmental risks are much higher than traditional ore mining because when rain falls on sulfide ore waste, sulfuric acid is produced. That sulfuric acid leaches out as acid mine drainage, which can contaminate lakes, rivers and groundwater.

The proposed mine would pose a significant threat to the cultural and natural resources of the Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin and the Great Lakes Region. Groundwater, rivers and ultimately Lake Michigan would become contaminated if acid mine drainage were to seep into surface and groundwater, posing a significant danger to fish and other aquatic life.

Take action

Please urge the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to reject the pending wetlands permit and prevent the establishment of the proposed Back Forty mine.
